We will sail from Oslo to Edinburgh with stops in Bergen, Shetland, Orkney islands and Scotland. We will also visit smaller ports along the route, docking at places only acessible by vessels such as S/S Vega.
Along the way, there is room for arranging sailing seminars and workshops with various sea actors - both on board and at shore. These can include the research, the administration, the founders, the established business sector, the financial industry, fisheries and aquaculture, environmental organizations and the public sector.
They all have a common goal - to care for the sea. Nevertheless, the starting point for taking care of it is different and the solutions thereafter. By collecting everyone on board the same ship, we can gather knowledge, identify knowledge holes and, not least, find solutions to the sea's challenges.
As a participant in the voyage, you have the opportunity to create activities, meet other people interested in the sea and help to find answers to the many environmental challenges our oceans now encounter.
From experience, we know that when people with a heart for the sea and the environment come together on a sailboat, the good ideas and the good solutions emerge. The partnerships are getting closer and safer than through meetings in offices. There is something in the "being in the same boat".
As a participant during this year's voyage, we expect you to:
- Contributes to your watch team with everything needed to be done on board.
- Creates open activities in the ports we come to.
- Helps to shed light on the topics we work with in social media and press along the way
